Savory Easy Waffles

Last Thursday was a very special day for all waffles lovers. International Waffles Day! I shared with some of you my recipe for Savory Easy Waffles on Instagram Stories and showed you a sneak peek how to make them on Instagram Reels. So this time I’ll leave that recipe here so it’ll be easier to find it.

My recipe will allow you to create a super crunchy waffles which with hummus and fresh vegetables will be a perfect breakfast idea. This recipe is only for 1 big waffle but you could double the ingredients so you can have 2 breakfasts ready to roll.

What veggies are the best with waffles?

I’ve got 3 favorite sets that go well with waffles:

  1. Hummus with a fresh onion (what a surprise) and red bell pepper. If I feel extra fancy I would add a little bit of Marmite.
  2. Fresh homemade guacamole with fresh coriander and pickled carrot from this recipe.
  3. Vegan cream cheese with fresh cucumber and sauerkraut.

Savory Easy Waffles

A quick recipe for savory crunchy waffles which you can have for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

  • Large Bowl
  • Waffle Iron


Dry Ingredients

  • ½ cup All Purpose Flour
  • ¼ tsp Baking Powder
  • tsp Baking Soda
  • Favorite Spices I used coriander, paprika, cumin
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • Pepper

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup Plant Based Milk I used Oat
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ½ tbsp Olive Oil


  • In a large bowl mix all dry ingredients to make flour fluffy and airy.
  • Add all of the wet ingredients to the bowl and mix it carefully. You don't want to overmix it so don't worry about flour clumps. Leave the batter for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat your waffle iron and spread a tiny amount of oil on it.
  • Pour the batter to waffle iron and bake it for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and serve it with favorite veggies.
